3D and 2D animation, motion graphics and post, from storyboard to final render: the video work that carries a launch. Remote, negotiable hourly rate.

Duties & expectations

  • 3D animations based on detailed storyboards.
  • 2D animations and motion graphics, including typography and character animation.
  • Create engaging scripts and storyboards to establish the creative vision for video projects.
  • Post-production, editing, color grading and rendering, with creative input throughout.
  • Translate layered designs (AI and PSD) into animated sequences.
  • Motion graphics: lower-thirds, IDs and full-screen motion design.
  • Audio editing, mixing and processing for music and sound design.
  • Reframe and render videos for multiple different mediums.
  • Continually discover new motion design trends and technologies.
  • Develop efficient project templates to limit task redundancy.
  • Use a variety of creative applications for video editing and motion design.
  • Clearly communicate project requirements and progress to project managers.
  • Stay open to feedback and iteration with the creative director and clients.
  • Test and optimize processes as part of a larger team workflow.
  • Help discover scalable solutions for quick, high-quality renders.
  • Time tracking and task management.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder.
  • Experience with Blender compositing, lighting, texturing and keyframing.
  • Operational understanding of 2D and 3D motion design principles.
  • Experience with team workflows.
  • Understanding of applications for different render settings.
  • Understanding of basic filmmaking principles (camera settings, exposure, aperture).
  • Understanding of broadcast audio standards for popular mediums.
  • Ability to provide insight for time estimates.
  • Strong self-management skills with the ability to stay on timelines.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Dropbox and cloud-based file-share systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Bonus qualifications

  • Familiarity with Vimeo and YouTube video hosting platforms.
  • Adobe Substance, Cinema 4D (with Octane or Redshift), or Archviz systems.
  • After Effects plugins: Video Copilot (Optical Flares, Orb, Element 3D), Red Giant (Trapcode Particular), Crate’s Godrays, Mobar, BodyMovin, Duik Angela, Shadow Studio, Deep Glow 2, FX Console, Void, BOA.
  • Claude AI or similar AI tools for writing custom add-ons, equations and plugins.
  • DaVinci Resolve and Moho Pro.
  • Setting up Mograph templates in After Effects for use in Premiere Pro.
  • Template systems like Motion Array.
  • Web integrations and codecs (Lottie, LottieLabs for Figma, or Bodymovin for AE).
  • Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Dimension CC.
  • 3D rigging or the Mixamo animation library.
  • Chat systems like Slack.
  • High-performance, macOS-compatible hardware is a plus.
