Brand identity, packaging, campaign pages and sales collateral, taken from concept to production-ready files. Remote, negotiable hourly rate.
Duties & expectations
- Brand identity work, including logos, marks, type systems and color.
- Packaging design and print-ready artwork prepared to manufacturer dielines.
- Campaign page layout and section graphics for crowdfunding platforms.
- Pitch decks, sell sheets, catalogs and sales collateral.
- Build and maintain brand guidelines, component libraries and asset systems.
- Adapt one set of assets across every size, crop and format a project needs.
- Prepare production files with correct bleeds, color modes and specs.
- Work within an existing brand system without losing what makes it work.
- Present and explain design decisions to project managers and clients.
- Stay open to feedback and iteration with the creative director and clients.
- Develop reusable templates to limit task redundancy across projects.
- Keep files organized and named so anyone on the team can pick them up.
- Clearly communicate project requirements and progress to project managers.
- Continually discover new design trends, tools and production techniques.
- Time tracking and task management.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of work experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Strong typographic skills and a real understanding of hierarchy and spacing.
- Experience preparing print production files and working with printers or manufacturers.
- Understanding of color management across RGB, CMYK and spot color.
- Experience designing within brand systems and guidelines.
- Ability to take a layout from concept to production without losing the idea.
- Ability to provide insight for time estimates.
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to stay on timelines.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with Dropbox and cloud-based file-share systems.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A portfolio that shows range across print and screen.
Bonus qualifications
- Packaging dielines, structural packaging and working with co-packers or manufacturers.
- Webflow, Framer or similar visual development platforms.
- After Effects for basic motion, or preparing files for an animator.
- Blender, Cinema 4D or Adobe Dimension for product mockups.
- Adobe Substance for materials and finishes.
- Illustration, custom lettering or icon design.
- Editorial and long-form layout, including book interiors.
- Shopify theme design or e-commerce layout.
- Email design in Klaviyo, Mailchimp or similar.
- Lottie, LottieLabs for Figma, or Bodymovin for AE.
- Design tokens and handoff systems for development teams.
- Claude AI or similar AI tools for production workflows and custom scripts.
- Chat systems like Slack.
- Familiarity with tabletop games, toys, publishing or consumer packaged goods.
- High-performance, macOS-compatible hardware is a plus.
